Only almost a week.<br />My summer hasn't been too bad, quite honestly. I can't really say I've been seeing too many people, but I'm in no way being antisocial or too busy. <br />Last Saturday my dad came back from Turkey. He brought back Liquor (from the airports no doubt), Turkish Delight, random food mixes, a Turkish hat (sadly not a fez, but a baseball cap that says "Turkey" in Turkish), some silly alligator squirt gun for Nikki (which I not only woke up to one morning, but was chased out of the house with as well), and a poster from a rally in Izmir he went to (probably more stuff as well that I either can't remember or don't care about).<br />My mom is leaving for Amsterdam on Sunday morning.<br />On Tuesday my ACC class (Economics) started. It's really not too bad; the Dillos are a fantastically underrated source of transportation, perfect for reading; my teacher is a cross between Arnold Schwarzenegger and an Oompa Loompa (with a New York accent thrown in to the mix); there's randomly quite a few kids from Westlake (??); and all of the bookstore are out of stock of the textbook (a little frustrating, but not enough to lose sleep over). Wow. I would love semi-colons so much more if I knew how to use them.<br />Nadine came home today. Apparently she's a drug dealer? prostitute? Who knows these days...<br />Nikki spent the afternoon killing Sims. Very very amusing. She's been rowing quite a lot as well (20 hours this week), although for the past couple of summers, she has had great difficulty finding what to do with her spare time. Last summer for instance, I made her look up "hobbies" on the Internet so she wouldn't be sitting on the couch all day. Her hobby that summer? Looking up "hobbies" (she liked the idea of a hobby, but could never push herself to get past that excitement).<br />Today Dasha came over and we made cookies. One kind looked EXACTLY like pink poop (but tasted delicious), and another kind looked normal but tasted like poop (mainly because I can't cook and we used strange substitutes. Lime peel instead of lemon? Sure, but lime/peanut butter/brown sugar/whole wheat flower/whatever the hell was also in there cookies? not too great).<br />Oh, and East of Eden? Apparently epic and really good, but I'm not looking forward to annotating a 600 page book (although I am using Uniballs instead of highlighters :D ).<br />Another thing I'm actually looking forward to this summer is hanging out with Rachel again. We're basically dead to each other August to May (with a break during Winter vacation, and another in November where I used her oven to make muffins). The other day I at-the-last-minute showed up to her birthday party and hung out with her and a bunch of her St. Stephens friends.
